Kusama (KSM)

Kusama is the sister chain of Polkadot and has been from the start thought of as a launching pad for all new updates and upgrades that were built for Polkadot. This doesnt mean that Kusama is not as vibrant and alive as its bigger sister, for there are a number of new parachains that are being developed on the chain. This is mainly due to the easier onbaording of new projects to the chain and better access to newly developed features.

Every upgrade is first implemented and published on Kusama before it is used on Polkadot, therefore you can expect alot of updates and exciting new features that parachains can implement. This makes Kusama a melting pot of innovation as can be seen in its catch phrase "expect chaos". There is no longer talk of only the polkadot ecosystem but the Dotsama ecosystem as the two chains are an integral part of the whole vision.
